LY Bakery

Location | Lai Chi Kok

Size | 1900 sq ft

Completion Date | 2025

The new concept flagship store for LY Bakery — a space defined by texture, warmth, and memory, where the tactile language of baking is translated into material and form.

Conceived through the quiet language of baking, the space draws from the tactile poetry of flour, dough and bread. Wall finishes are treated with a soft, powdery texture that recalls the touch of flour and freshly kneaded dough, while textured surfaces subtly echo the delicate fibres and layers found within baked bread.

Touches of the brand’s signature orange are introduced as restrained highlights, weaving a gentle rhythm through the space. Paired with warm, toasted tones and softened light, the palette evokes a sense of heat and comfort — like the lingering warmth of bread just out of the oven.

A loaf is never complete until it’s shared.

The café tables borrow their gentle silhouette from a loaf pulled apart by hand. Each half can stand on its own or pair with another to welcome more around the table.

Balancing flexibility with familiarity, they embody the communal nature of baking, where sharing is expressed through both form and function.

Echoing the gestures of the baking process, the central display island is sculpted to resemble kneaded dough. Signature bakes of LY Bakery—bagels, croissants, and baguettes—are reinterpreted as architectural elements, appearing as sculptural wall features and bespoke seating that weave the bakery's identity into the space itself.
